Back-end / PHP & Laravel Developer - Hybrid working

Are you an ambitious Developer, experienced with back-end, PHP and Laravel? Looking to work with a talented team to expand your knowledge and work on creative and exciting, yet challenging projects? The package

  • £35,000-50,000 negotiable based on experience
  • A monetary bonus paid quarterly (approx. 10-15% of your salary)

The role

You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining technology at the back end of websites (database and application).

You'll work together with front-end developers by providing the outward-facing web application elements and server-side logic. In other words, you'll create the logic to make the web app function properly, and accomplish this using server-side scripting languages.

You'll play a critical role within the web development teams and be responsible for handling data storage and ensuring content gets delivered to the front-end.

  • Building and maintaining web applications

  • Optimising applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Building and maintaining unit tests
  • Troubleshooting and debugging
  • Testing the applications and websites you build​

To be successful, you will…

  • Have an understanding of server-side patterns and languages like PHP (Laravel)
  • Have an understanding of front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript (to communicate with team members on the front-end)
  • Have the ability to manage a hosting environment, including database administration as well as scaling applications to handle load changes
  • Adhere to ‘security by design' principles
  • Have knowledge of accessibility and security compliance
  • Have a solid understanding of GDPR and its role in application development and data storage
  • Have good problem solving
  • Be experienced with version control, such as Git
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Have good documentation
